You may have heard your child come home from school the last two days talking about the fun S.T.E.M. projects we have been completing. If you weren't aware, S.T.E.M. stands for science, technology, engineering, and math. These S.T.E.M. activities help students use real world problem solving and critical thinking skills to design and build projects that achieve a certain goal. They plan, create, test, and improve, and then re-test their designs. The kids LOVE these activities and are SO engaged during them. The two projects we have completed so far were a challenge to see who could build the tallest tower out of toothpicks and candy corn and who could build the bridge that would hold the most blocks using cups, string, and tape.
